The following course is designed around Chapters 4 through 8 of the 2014 NEC. There will be certain terms that will be revisited from earlier chapters, but predominately its focus will be on additions to the Code as well as revised articles, sections, subsections and finally subdivisions. This course is designed to offer an insight into the Code Panel's decision making process so that an interpretation of the code and the code changes can lead to a better understanding for the installer.

NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace

This course explores the important electrical safety standard NFPA 70E, beginning with a general overview. The next lesson will discuss Chapter 1 - Article 110, including outside contractors, training requirements, and working within limited approach boundaries. The final lesson examines NFPA 70E standards pertaining to personal and other protective equipment. We will look at insulated tools and equipment, un-insulated overhead lines, and general safety precautions.


Texas Electicians Law and Rules

This course will cover the Texas law and rules that govern electrician licensing and practice, beginning with an introduction to the role and duties of the Electrical Safety and Licensing Advisory Board. Students will learn about the different types of electrician licenses issued in Texas and the requirements for obtaining and maintaining these licenses.

In this course, we will also discuss training documentation, insurance requirements, electrician responsibilities, and standards of conduct.
